The pair of corner props are designed to make it easier to replace the disposable cage bottoms during cleaning. With the corner props, you can handle the bottom replacement by yourself, without needing assistance.

When cleaning a large Model-A cage, it’s often necessary to lift the cage and brush off any dirty bedding that has stuck to the bottom. Handling a large cage alone can be unwieldy, as you have to lift the entire cage to brush off the dirt. If one side slips and touches the bedding again, it can pick up more debris. Ideally, you want to lift the cage with one hand while using the other hand to brush off the bedding, then remove the cage without it picking up any mess.

The corner props enable you to do exactly this: they prop up one side of the cage, allowing you to lift the opposite side with one hand while brushing off any dirt with the other. Finally, you can lift the entire cage out, clean and free of debris.

Another challenging task is placing a large Model-A cage into a new disposable bottom. Normally, this requires two people, as aligning both sides perfectly is difficult when working alone—if one side misses, the cage may crush or rip the edge of the bottom. With the corner props, however, you can handle this process solo.

First, position the props inside the disposable bottom, allowing you to lower one side of the cage onto the props. Then, carefully align and lower the opposite side into the bottom. Finally, return to the prop side, remove the props, and gently lower that side into place. This method allows you to lower the cage one side at a time, reducing the risk of damaging the disposable bottom.

For cleaning a birdcage, you can use the props to lift one side of the cage, then lift the other side to slide the bottom tray out from underneath. This prevents the birds from escaping while you clean. A set of two props are included in all Model-E2 cages. Model-A cages do not have the props included.
